The Progressive Libertarian Party?

I think the Libertarian Party should change its name to the Progressive Libertarian Party, and then I think that everybody who values limited government in both the Democratic and Republican Parties would be compelled to take a second look at the Libertarian Party and realize that it needs to be one of the two major players of our country’s two party system.  Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this country has a two party system made up of the Establishment Party and the Progressive LIbertarian Party.  This will give everybody in the country a choice between a party with two branches that tells any lie necessary to get elected, and a Party of Principle that can always be trusted to reduce the size of government whenever the people decide to elect the Progressive Libertarian Party candidate.

  1. If the Libertarian Party became the PL party “progressive” would have to take on a whole new meaning because the Libertarian Party as it is is far from progressive as I understand the word. I changed my registration to PL because I liked the name before I found this site but I can see now it was a mistake. Less government is not the cure. If there is a cure it would call for keeping corporate interests out of government. Now, as it is, government is little more than a whorehouse in the service of the great corporations. Thanks to Paul Craig Roberts that metaphor.

  2. John, you have me confused about something. You said that Less government is not the cure. And then you said that if there is a cure it would call for keeping corporate interests out of government. Okay, so correct me if I’m wrong, but when a corporation lobbies the government for corporate favors, isn’t that more government? So if we kept corporations from lobbying the government to get corporate favors, wouldn’t that be less government? It sounds to me like we are on the same team, friend! You call it keeping corporate interests out of government. I call it less government. Lets go have a cigar!

  3. Hey John, I just took a look at your website. You have some very interesting ideas. I am looking forward to taking a closer look at the ideas on your website.
