God is not tricking us or making plans for us. (God is not a super human with a super human intellect–that is somehing we understand, but God is not a human.) We are on our own in this world, and we must use our physical senses and moral intuition to understand the world–natural and social–and do our best to make the most of our lives without violating the world or others–or at least not doing so intentionally.
