A friend of mine asked me if I would be more comfortable with Joe Biden or Sarah Palin as President.

Personally, I would feel a lot more comfortable with Sarah Palin as the president of the United States than Joe Biden.

However, I think that I would feel a lot more comfortable with Barack Obama as the president of the United States than John McCain.

I guess it is too bad that we can’t vote for Obama and Palin to be on the same ticket.

This is my analysis:
• Biden has been rubbing elbows with corrupt politicians in Washington for thirty six years.
• Biden does not have any executive experience.
• Biden does not have much, if any experience fighting corruption in his own party.
• Palin is not a Washington insider.
• Palin has a lot more executive experience than Joe Biden since she has been the mayor of a small town, and the governor of an entire state. Now that I think about it, Barack Obama doesn’t have any executive experience either, unless running for president for two years counts as executive experience. Obama definitely has a lot of experience running for president, but the entire time Obama was running for president, Sarah Palin was running the government of an entire state.
• In order to get elected as governor of the state of Alaska, Sarah Palin had to successfully fight the corruption in her own Republican Party.
• If you add up all of Sarah Palin’s political experience over the years, it adds up to over 12 years of political experience, some of which is running an entire town and running the government of the entire state of Alaska for the last two years.
• Joe Biden has over 35 years of political experience, but none of it is executive experience. Joe Biden does not know what it is like to make tough choices on a daily basis while acting as the leader of an entire government.
• So, based on my analysis, Sarah Palin is a lot better prepared to accomplish real change in Washington even though she is not the Vice Presidential candidate who is running under the “Change We Can Believe In” campaign slogan. How ironic is that?

  1. A few things… governing alaska would be absolutely nothing like governing the most powerful (well maybe not so much any more) nation in the world. I will concede that maybe governing Alaska is more involved then say… Wyoming… With the Wildlife Reserve controversies and the oil debates raging on. But other than that, Alaska doesn’t do much in comparison to the vast expanse of duties a stand-in president would have to cope with. Not to mention the crisis our nation would be in just having lost their president.

In my eyes, Biden would be a lot better, because if, heaven forbid, John McCain did die in office, change isn’t high on the list of things to do. If Obama died somehow, again, heaven forbid, Biden would be able to work with Congress perhaps a bit better, and having experience dealing in Washington things would get done.
